Hancock County walked off Meade County, while Apollo and Owensboro both lost.

Tecumseh (Lynnville), IN 5, Apollo 1

Mollie Julain threw a complete game, allowing three earned runs over seven innings in the E-Gals’ 5-1 loss to Tecumseh. Tyler Hall drove in the team’s lone run, while Liza Page went 1-4 and scored.

“I thought we competed pretty well,” Apollo head coach Stephen Julian said. “We just couldn’t get the big hit we needed with runners in scoring position. Defensively, we gave them too many outs, but I am seeing improvement. We just need to keep working at getting better.”

Hancock County 9, Meade County 8

Audrey Carnes drove in Madison McManaway in the bottom of the eighth inning to walk off Meade County 9-8. Aubree Mosby went 1-4 with two RBIs, while Ansley House also drove in a run. Madyson Higdon finished 3-4, while Baylee Estes walked twice and scored twice. Ryleigh French threw a complete game, allowing five earned runs over eight innings, striking out two.

Henderson County 8, Owensboro 5

Ayrish Barksdale went 2-4 with two RBIs in the Lady Devils’ 8-5 loss to Henderson County. Hayley Sikes and Kaysi Burden combined for two hits and three RBIs, while Taylor Sowders went 2-3 with a run scored. Alyssa Rhineburger pitched a complete game, allowing five earned runs over six innings.

“We played well, and we can’t hang our heads for competing against the defending state champs and the current number four ranked team in the state,” Owensboro head coach Quincy Moorman said. “We had our chances and just couldn’t find the timely hits we needed late in the game.”
