Playing a triple header, the Lady Panthers went 3-0 with wins over Christian County 11-0, Assumption 4-3, and Franklin Simpson 16-0. In their first game against Christian County, Callie Smith, Kamryn Timmons, and Briley Henry combined for five hits and six RBIs, while Hancock went 1-2 with an RBI. Timmons started in the circle, throwing four shutout innings, striking out nine. Sadie Beauchamp pitched a perfect fifth, striking out the side.
In their second game against Assumption, the Lady Panthers were trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh. Molly Hancock was the hero of the afternoon, hitting a three run homer to walk it off. She finished 2-3, while Annine Newman and Shelby Bennett both went 2-4. Sophie Cain started in the circle, allowing three earned runs over six innings, while Timmons pitched a scoreless seventh.
In their third game of the day, it was a total team effort as 10 different players drove in runs. Lilah Morris, Brylyn Boswell, and Henry combined for three hits and seven RBIs, while Hancock walked twice and scored three runs. Timmons started in the circle, throwing a perfect first, while Beauchamp pitched the last two innings.
“I thought all three pitchers had great command in the circle,” Daviess County head coach John Biggs said. “Our hitters made great adjustments at the plate. In the Assumption game, Sophia pitched great and kept their hitters off balance, before Kamryn came in and shut things down to give us a shot in the seventh. Shelby and Annie had great at bats to give Molly an opportunity to walk it off.”
