Traveling to Ohio County, Hancock County tennis had an off night as both the girls’ and boys’ teams lost 5-0 and 3-2. For the Hornets, Lucas Anderson won his singles match 8-4, while the doubles team of Preston Blanton and Caleb Ewing won 8-6.

“Disappointing results tonight,” Hancock County head coach Dan Hopkins said. “I don’t know if it was the heat or the long bus ride, but we didn’t give our best effort tonight. I preach a lot about having “positive energy,” meaning the two things we can control, which are being positive mentally and giving good effort. We were lacking both. Our top boys singles and doubles fought through it, so I am proud of their battle. The Ohio County girls have a solid program, and our girls are learning how to compete. We don’t have time to beat down as we host a solid Muhlenberg County team on Tuesday, so it’s back to work.”
