Hancock County and Owensboro both won, while Apollo, Daviess County, and Trinity (Whitesville) all lost.

University Heights 2, Apollo 1

Ryleigh Logan went 1-3 and drove in Apollo’s lone run in their 2-1 loss to University Heights. Will Wilkins and Ross Millburn had two of the Eagles’ three hits, while Grayson Smith walked and scored a run. Jackson Carder threw a complete game, allowing one earned run over seven innings, striking out four.

Breckinridge County 2, Daviess County 1

Logan Mewes struck out 12 while allowing two earned runs over seven innings, in Daviess County’s 2-1 loss to Breckinridge County. Mason Russelburg singled to score Brett Poole for the Panthers’ lone run, while Brody Brubaker finished 1-3.

Hancock County 12, Owensboro Knights 3

 The Hornets scored four runs in the top of the first and never relinquished their lead, beating the Owensboro Knights 12-3. Lane Dixon went 1-2 with two RBIs, while Leland Wilson, Porter Hay, Carson Clark, and Jack Roberts all drove in runs. Clark was the starting pitcher, allowing one run over three innings and striking out three. Noah Keown, Jacob Shultz, and Hay pitched out of the bullpen, combining for six strikeouts.

Owensboro 10, Ohio County 0

Ty Ashley, Evan Hampton, and Cayden Ray combined for five hits and six RBIs in the Red Devils’ 10-0 win over Ohio County. Brady Benjamin went 2-4 with an RBI, while Trevor DeLacey and Will Rickard each drove in a run. Will Hume threw a complete game shutout, striking out five over six innings.

Butler County 11, Trinity (Whitesville) 3

Isaac Hernandez drove in a pair of runs in the Raiders’ 11-3 loss to Butler County. Harrison Barnett also drove in a run, while Connor Hatfield went 2-2. Rylan Cecil allowed six earned runs over five innings, while Barnett pitched the sixth.
