It was a successful day for the local schools as Daviess County swept their doubleheader, and Owensboro Catholic and Apollo both won.
Apollo 4, Forest Park (Ferdinand), IN 3
The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth en route to a 4-3 win over Forest Park. Jackson Carder finished 1-2 with two RBIs, while Gunnar Hendricks and Ross Millburn both drove in a run. Garrett Lanham was the starting pitcher, allowing one earned run over four innings, while Ryleigh Logan pitched three perfect innings in relief.
Daviess County 7, Union County 1
Noah Ranburger finished 2-3 and drove in two runs in the Panthers’ 7-1 win over Union County. Sean Page, Lucas Ward, Mason Russelburg, and John Rue all drove in runs, while Brody Brubaker reached base twice. Parker Wilson allowed one earned run over four innings, while Ben Watkins threw four shutout innings out of the bullpen.
Daviess County 6, Christian County 1
Brett Poole was lights out, allowing one unearned run over 5 2/3 innings to fuel the Panthers to a 6-1 win over Christian County. Cameron Rickard, Logan Mewes, and Mason Russelburg all drove in runs, while Gunnar Hendricks, Brody Brubaker, and Sean Page had three of the team’s seven hits.
Owensboro Catholic 3, Clinton County 0
Jaxson White finished 1-2 with two RBIs to power the Aces to a 3-0 win over Clinton County. Tucker Evans had two of the team’s three hits, while Alex Hood walked twice. Luke Quinn started on the mound, throwing 4 1/3 shutout innings, while Lane Hundley and Barrett Evans combined for 2 2/3 shutout innings out of the bullpen.
