Hancock County’s Ava Riggs singled in the bottom of the eighth inning to walk off South Laurel 4-3. Aubree Mosby and Riggs both had two hits, while Bella Bryant also drove in a run. On the mound, Bryant threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs over eight innings, striking out five.
“This was a good win today against one of the top teams in their region,” Hancock County head coach Dwayne Wroe said. “We got a good pitching performance from Bella Bryant and made some good defensive plays behind her. Ava Riggs had two hits, with the last one being a walk-off single. I am proud of the team for the way they battled today.”
