Daviess County shut out McLean County, while Owensboro beat Henderson County. In other action, both Trinity (Whitesville) and Hancock County lost.

Daviess County 4, McLean County 0

The Panthers shutout McLean County behind a pitching gem by Logan Mewes. Mewes threw 7 2/3 shutout innings with six strikeouts, while Lucas Ward recorded the final out. Noah Ranburger finished 2-4 at the plate with two RBIs, while Mewes went 1-4 with two RBIs.

For the Cougars, Jax Lee struck out six over five shutout innings, while Jaelin Groves allowed one earned run across three innings. Connor Mitchuson and Brooks Lynam both had two hits, while Logan Bozarth, Corbin Martin, and Groves had the teams three other hits.

Grayson County 7, Hancock County 5

The Hornets couldn’t hold on to a late lead due to an error, falling to Grayson County 7-5. Dylan Mucker went 1-2 with two RBIs, while Carter Lyday and Jack Roberts each drove in a run. Louden Fluharty allowed six runs over 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven, while Nolan Maxwell pitched out of the bullpen.

“We played very well, and Louden Fluharty threw a very nice game for us,” Hancock County head coach Tony Banta said. “We consistently put the ball in play at the plate. We also led most of the game, and our defense was solid until a couple of late miscues opened the door for Grayson County. We still managed to get people in scoring position in the top of the seventh and gave ourselves a chance to tie or go ahead, but we fell short. It was a really strong team effort.”

Owensboro 10, Henderson County 8

Will Hume went 1-3 with two RBIs to power the Red Devils to a 10-8 win over Henderson County. Brady Benjamin, Blake Kimbrell, Trevor DeLacey, and Eli Hampton all drove in the team’s other four runs. Ty Ashley started on the mound, striking out four over three innings. Benjamin, B Toler, and Hume all pitched out of the bullpen, with the later recording the save.

“I am proud of our guys for battling, being gritty, and staying the course,” Owensboro head coach Jake Fiorella said. “Winning is hard, so we’re always willing to celebrate when we’re able to come out with the win.”

Edmonson County 18, Trinity (Whitesville) 17

Trailing in the bottom of the seven entering the bottom of the seventh, the Raiders scored six runs, but were unable to complete the walkoff, falling to Edmonson County 18-17. Connor Hatfield, Cale Boarman, and Rylan Cecil combined for eight hits and eight RBIs, while Kayin Howard finished 1-5 with two RBIs.

On the mound, Hatfield allowed seven earned runs over four innings, striking out six, while Boarman and Grant Howard both pitched out of the bullpen.
