It was a productive night for our coverage teams as Daviess County and McLean County both won.
Daviess County 41, Greenwood 23
On a night where either offense was able to find consistency, the Lady Panthers’ defense shined in their 41-23 win over Greenwood. Kennedy Lane scored a game-high 14 points and added five rebounds, while Zoey Beehn recorded a double-double of 111 points and 10 rebounds. Lily Hoagland and Riley Hayden both added four points.
“We had to rely heavily on our defense tonight,” Daviess County head coach Natalie Payne said. “I am proud of the defensive effort tonight, but it’s back to work tomorrow in preparation for a solid Bethlehem team on the road Saturday.”
McLean County 79, Butler County 62
The Lady Cougars put on an offensive display with four players scoring in double-digits in their 79-62 win over Butler County. Karlee Floyd hit four threes to go along with her team-high 18 points, while Ella Larkin scored eight points in each half. Sarah Larkin added nine of her nine of her 15 points in the third quarter and Katie McCoy finished with 10 points.
The girls played tenacious defense tonight and were able to get out and run in transition” McLean County head coach Eli Ellis said. “We did a good job of sharing the wealth, moving the ball, and everyone understood our scheme. I am very proud of them.”
