Both hosting home games, Daviess County defeated Bardstown, while Trinity (Whitesville) outlasted St. Mary.
Daviess County 73, Bardstown 43
Zoey Beehn scored her 1000th career point to help the Lady Panthers cruise past Bardstown 73-43 at home. Beehn finished with a monster double-double of 28 points and 21 rebounds, while Lily Hoagland added 19 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Kennedy Lane was third on the team in scoring with 17 points, hitting four threes and adding three rebounds, and a steal.
“Our defense continues to be stifling, we are capitalizing on getting multiple stops in a row, and looking to get easy baskets in transition,” Daviess County head coach Natalie Payne said. “That’s when we are at our best. We have been really fun to watch these past three games and I feel like we are understanding and playing to our strengths.”
Trinity (Whitesville) 46, St. Mary 39
Sophie Hatfield and Rylynne Meserve each scored 11 points as Trinity beat St. Mary 46-39. Sarah Payne scored six of her 10 points in the first half, while Ella Morris (9), Madison McDaniel (3), and Nevaeh Mills (2) rounded out the teams scoring.
“Our defensive intensity was there all night,” Trinity head coach Emily Hernandez said. “We struggled to hit shots in the first half, but continued to compete and scored much better in the second half. It was nice to see the girls compete and finish the game even when shots were not falling.”
The Lady Raiders return to action on Tuesday in the semi-finals of the 3rd Region All-A.
