Daviess County beat Apollo for their seventh straight win, while Owensboro beat Trinity (Whitesville) at home. In other action, Hancock County lost on the road.

Daviess County 62, Apollo 49

Jonathan Moss and DeAaron Watkins combined for 39 points, to power the Panthers to a 62-49 win over Apollo. This marked Moss’s third straight game scoring 20+ (24). Watkins also led the team in rebounds with 15, while Jaxon Brown added 12 points, two assists, and two boards.

“It was a tough ninth district rivalry game,” Daviess County head coach Neil Hayden said. “But I thought we rebounded well and played solid in transition.”

The Eagles Luke Jarboe finished with 19 points, while Tate Powers and Kobe Kelly both added 11 points.

“It was a tough night for us, as we got into foul trouble early and couldn’t climb the mountain,” Apollo head coach Ryne Tinsley said. “The kids fought hard.”

Owensboro 82, Trinity (Whitesville) 31

Owensboro’s shooting was too much for Trinity to handle, winning 82-31. Keaton Hughes led all scorers with 27 points, 19 of which came in the first half. Michael Acton was second on the team in scoring with 14 points, while Will Hume and Jameson Posey each added 10 points.

For the Raiders it was an off-shooting night. Will Hernadez led the team in scoring with eight points, while Ian Roby scored all seven of his points in the first half. Cale Boarman and Connor Hatfield each added five points.

“We handled the front end of the press okay,” Trinity (Whitesville) head coach Nathan West said. “We just couldn’t finish once we beat it. Hughes is a tough matchup for us simply because of his size.”

Butler County 75, Hancock County 31

Hancock County had no answer for Butler County, losing 75-31. Alex Madden led the way with six points and nine rebounds, while Seth Hunt added five points, two steals, and one assist. Abe Simpson and Wyatt Emmick both also added five points.
