Traveling to Paducah for a doubleheader against Graves County and McCracken County, Owensboro’s boys’ bowling team finished 1-1 on the day. They fell to Graves County 4-1, but bounced back against McCracken County 3-2. Christian Miller led the way, bowling 246, 247, and 236, while Tristian Miller rolled 245, 237, and 213. Xavier Coomes added a 233 and 195, while Andrew Christensen bowled a 211.
“The boys struggled early getting into a rhythm but stuck with it,” Owensboro head coach Regina Christensen said. “Eventually, they found their line in the second half of the match.”
On the girls’ side, they lost to Graves County 5-0 and McCracken County 4-1. Emily Cooper bowled a new high of 189. Elizabeth Marshall, Zoey Douglas, and Kaylynn Denton rolled 131, 128, and 125.
“The girls are new with only two returning players but are learning quickly and improving each match,” Christensen said.
Next Saturday, Owensboro travels to the McCracken County Tournament at 10 a.m.
