Despite playing their fourth game in three days, Owensboro didn’t show any signs of fatigue, cruising to a 58-32 over Crittenden County to win the Firstbank Holiday Bash. Shalyn Sprinkles continued her impressive tournament run, scoring a game-high 18 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter.
Keeley Harris was second on the team in scoring with 12 points, while Heleina John and Carter Unique-Swanagan each scored eight points. Abby Sapp (5), Gizelle Whitlock (4), and A’Drean Carothers (3) rounded out the teams scoring.
“I was very proud of the energy my team brought with it being our fourth game in three days,” Owensboro head coach Jansen Locher said. “We were in foul trouble early, but buckled down on defense and shut down a good offensive team.”
The Lady Devils have a couple of days to recuperate before facing off against Assumption Friday at 5:45 at Meade County High School in the New Year’s Bash.
