The Lady Hornets picked up a much-needed road win against Warren Central, while McLean County couldn’t contain Union County.
Hancock County 37, Warren Central 15
Carolina Jones was all over the stat sheet in the Lady Hornets 37-15 win over Warren Central – recording a team-high 15 points and adding six steals, five rebounds, and four assists. Ansley House recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Madyson Higdon finished with 13 boards and three points. Jordyn Waltrip only scored two points but added six rebounds.
“We did a much better job on the boards tonight,” Hancock County head coach Kevin Husk said. “I also thought we were in the passing lane a lot more tonight too. We took steps in the right direction tonight.”
Union County 46, McLean County 35
McLean County had a three-point lead after the first quarter, but couldn’t hang on, falling down the stretch to Union County on the road 46-35. Senior Ava Lannum led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 12 points, while senior Katie McCoy and junior Kenadi Level added four points each.
