It was a great Sunday for our coverage teams as both Owensboro Catholic and Trinity (Whitesville) picked up wins.
Owensboro Catholic 64, Rockcastle County 47
Luke Beickman continued his terrific weekend, scoring a team-high 22 points, 12 of which came in the second half, to fuel the Aces past Rockcastle County 64-47. Waryn Ebelhar added three threes to go with his 18 points, while Vince Carrico scored eight points. Next up for the Aces is the Faupel Automotive/Chevrolet GMC Ford Colonel Basketball Classic where they will face Hopkinsville Friday at 12:30.
Trinity 60, Casey County 39
Nine different players scored for the Raiders as they cruised past Casey County on the road to close out the Marion County Christmas Tournament. Hayden Aull was on fire from deep, hitting five threes to go with his team-high 21 points, while Harrison Barnett was second on the team in scoring with 12 points.
“We played well,” Trinity head coach Nathan West said. “We were able to play a lot of guys a lot of minutes and really experiment with a few different lineups, offenses, and defenses. It was a great end to our trip. Now, we will take a few days off and prepare for the Southwire Classic at the Sportscenter.”
