Daviess County drew 1-1 against Bowling Green, while Apollo came up just short against Webster County in boys’ soccer action Tuesday night.

Daviess County 1, Bowling Green 1

Cameron Bell fed a chip pass to Carter Payne to score the Panthers’ lone goal of the game in their 1-1 draw against Bowling Green. The Panthers only had three shots on goal compared to Bowling Green’s 13, but goalie Harrison Dunaway stood tall, finishing with seven saves.

“Our boys stuck to our gameplan for 80 minutes and got a result against a very good Bowling Green team,” Daviess County head coach Doug Sandifer said. “We had to defend for long portions and the boys were disciplined and smart in the defending.”

Webster County 2, Apollo 1
Trailing 1-0, Jason Perez assisted Colton Anderson to tie the game, but the Eagles gave up the deciding goal with 11 minutes left as they fell short to Webster County 2-1. Goalie Luke Mattingly finished with three saves.

“We lost to Webster County last year by a lot bigger margin,” Apollo head coach Nikos Agisilaou said. “This is a tough one to swallow as we played well for the majority of the game.”
