Led by individual medalist Jax Malone’s 67, the Owensboro boys’ golf team claimed the team title on Saturday in the Christian County Invitational with a score 284.
Also scoring for the Red Devils were Will Rickard (71), Cole Crews (72), and Nolan Warren (74).
“I loved the fact that our team totals continue to improve each week,” Owensboro head coach Pat Hume said. “We are still leaving some shots out on the course, but we still have time to get everyone playing their best golf. I love the effort and cohesiveness of this group. They root for each other.”
Daviess County finished third, shooting a 297. Grant Broughton and Walker Ferguson led the way for the Panthers, both shooting a 72.
Hancock County finished fourth with a 298 and was led by Dec Lewko, who finished second with a 69.
Owensboro Catholic shot a 306, with Luke Estes recording the low round for the Aces with a 75.
