Windy Hollow Dragway is hosting an event Friday night allowing racers and fans to take their vehicles on the track for some fun, while the Speedway is hosting races on Saturday night.
The action kicks off at the Dragway with “Friday Night Fun” on May 17. Organizers said the event is a “no-pressure environment” where racers and fans can take their cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles, and scooters out to the track and make unlimited passes down the 1/8-mile strip. Bracket and “street” racers are also encouraged to come out and test-and-tune.
The track will also host a trophy race for those who want to compete for hardware. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with the track going “hot” at 6:30 p.m. The entry fee is $25 to run the track. General admission is $12 for adults, with ages 12 and under admitted free.
On May 18, Windy Hollow Speedway will host the WARE Trucking & Providence Paving Tuckessee Street Stock Series paying $2,000-to-win. The track will also host the MMSA-Midwest Mini Sprint Association on the 3/8-mile dirt track, a series that has produced national names including NASCAR’s Chase Briscoe.
Also on track will be the economy class, bomber class, mini-stock class, rusty bolts, and a factory stock division. Gates will open at 4 p.m., with qualifying at 6:45 p.m. and racing to follow. General admission is $15 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.
