Baseball recap (May 6): DCHS

Daviess County played on despite an unfavorable forecast as they hosted McLean County. The Panthers came out with a 6-2 win and currently sit 15-15 on the season.

McLean opened the scoring with a run in the first inning, but Daviess County quickly took the lead with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. The second and third innings went scoreless before DC added two more runs to their lead in the fourth inning. DC scored one final run in the sixth inning, but McLean had one more in them as they scored 1 run in the seventh. DCHS shut them down to close out the 6-2 win. 

On the mound for the Panthers was Logan Mewes who recorded 7 strikeouts and allowed just 1 hit across 6 innings, and Parker Wilson closed out the final inning with 1 strikeout while allowing 1 hit. At the plate, Noah Ranburger had 2 RBIs and scored 1 run. Brody Brubaker had an RBI and scored 1 run, and Brayden Wells had an RBI as well. Lucas Ward and Wilson both scored 2 runs each on the night.
