Tennis recap (April 8): AHS, DCHS

Daviess County’s boys’ and girls’ teams both secured victories in their match against Grayson County, and Apollo’s girls’ team had a big win over Edmonson County.

AHS

The E-gals had no trouble taking down Edmonson 8-1. They were led in singles by 8-0 wins from Layla Parker and Morgan Shook. Sami Ebelhar contributed an 8-1 win, and Annie Helbig won 8-2. Jolie Foster and Karsen Locher both won 8-3 as well. In doubles, Anna and Adelyn Dilbeck Maddie Ebelhar and Jessie Pate won 8-4 as well.

DCHS

The boys’ team defeated Grayson 6-3. Carson McDuffee started them off with two 6–1 wins, and Yuga Kani won 8-2. Matthew Dunlay won a close 9-8 match, and George Newton got another 8-6 win for DCHS in singles. In doubles, the duo of McDuffee/Kani won 6-4 and 6-2 while Eli Bruens and Max Sterett won 8-5. 

For the Lady Panthers, Allessa Hall got the first win in singles with 6-2 and 6-4 wins. Kate McCain had a big 8-0 win and Jana Combs had a big 8-1 win as well. In doubles the duo of McCain/Combs won 8-3.
