Softball recap (April 29): THS

Although there were multiple cancellations due to the weather, Trinity still faced off against Butler County in an intense game that saw them win 11-9. 

The first inning saw Trinity get on the board with 1 run, but Butler would take the lead after scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. The top of the second inning saw THS score 4 runs and take the lead, but Butler tied it up at 5-5 with 2 runs of their own. After a scoreless third inning, Trinity scored 3 runs to once again take the lead in top of the fourth. Butler got 2 of those runs back, but still trailed Trinity 8-7. Butler held THS off in the fifth and they scored 2 runs to take the lead. The Lady Raiders rallied and scored 3 runs in the seventh inning to secure the 11-9 win. 

On the mound, Sophie Hatfield had 4 strikeouts across 4.2 innings and Ella Morris had 3 strikeouts across 2.1 innings. Kendall Howard led at the plate with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, 4 hits and 1 run scored. Hatfield also hit a double and had 2 RBIs. Emma Whitehouse had 2 RBIs and discord 1 run, and Sarah Payne hit a double, had 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. Georgia Howard and Hope Boarman both had 1 RBI. Kylie Hatfield scored 2 runs and Morris and Madison McDaniel both scored 1.
