Tennis recap (March 26): AHS, DCHS, OHS, OCHS

Owensboro had another city-county matchup as they took on Daviess County, and Apollo and Owensboro Catholic both had clean sweeps against Ohio County and Grayson County respectively.

AHS 

Apollo’s girls’ team had a perfect 9-0 win over Ohio County while the boys’ team secured a big 7-2 win. 

The boys’ side had multiple big wins in singles as Connor Osborne had an 8-0 victory, Stetson Osborne and Maddox Tucker both won 8-1 and Ra Ne Son and Jamison Franey both won 8-2. In doubles, the duo of Franey/Connor O’Bryan had a big 8-2 win as well.

The girls team had lots of large-margin victories as Erin McManus, Maddie Ebelhar, and Jolie Foster all won 8-1 in singles. The duo of Anna Dillback/Sami Ebelhar had an 8-0 win while Ella Hayden/Maddie Ebelhar secured an 8-1 victory. 

DCHS vs OHS

Daviess County defeated Owensboro 6-3 in the girls’ competition and 5-4 in the boys’s competition.

OCHS

Owensboro Catholic swept Grayson County with a 9-0 win for the boys and an 8-1 win for the girls’ team.

On the boys’ side, Houston Danzer and Jack Haines both contributed 8-0 victories along with Cooper Danzer and Patrick Hawke who both won 8-1. In doubles, Cooper and Houston Danzer and the duo of John Wathen/Luke Pfeifer got big 8-2 wins. 

For the girls’ team, Ella Cason had two 6-0 wins while Isabelle Prisz and Julia Marshall both won 8-1. Sophia Merchant had a big 8-2 victory as well. In doubles, the duos of Maddie Meyer/Elizabeth Hayden and Madison Clark/Lexie Moyer both won 8-1.
