Moreland Park hosted a city-county matchup that saw Owensboro Catholic sweep Owensboro in both the girls’ and boys’ competitions.
The Lady Aces took down the Lady Red Devils in a clean 5-0 sweep. Catholic dominated the court as Lady Aces players amassed 7 6-0 victories by Ella Cason, Christina Head, duo of Elizabeth Hayden/Maddie Meyer and Molly Meyer. Three 8-0 wins were clinched by Lexie Moyers, the duo of Savannah Lewis/Mary Edge and the duo of Sophia Merchant/Meridith Traylor.
Owensboro Catholic’s boys’ team defeated Owensboro 5-0. They had three 6-0 victories from Joseph Merchant, John Wathen and Ben Haines. The OHS duo of John Clay Ford and Walker Gaddis won a game 6-0, but Houston and Cooper Danzer won 2 games to take the series. Patrick Hauke and Jack Haines also won their series 2-0.
