Daviess County played their season opener at home against Ohio County where they won a close 8-7 game.

Ohio took the lead early with 3 runs in the first inning. Daviess County held Ohio scoreless in the 2nd and scored 2 runs in the third inning to cut the gap. Both teams added 1 run to their score in the fourth, the Panthers tied the game at the bottom of the fifth inning. The sixth inning went scoreless, but the final inning saw both teams working hard at the plate to take the win. Daviess County won the battle in the end by scoring 4 runs to Ohio’s 3 for a final score of 8-7. 

Logan Mewes, Carter Nichols and Cameron Rickard all pitched for the Panthers during the game and they totaled 8 strikeouts and just 1 error. At bat Sean Page had 3 RBIs to help keep the runs coming for DC.
