Apollo and Owensboro both are looking to finish out the season strong as the Red Devils won at home against Henderson and the Eagles found success on the road against Crittenden County.
AHS 65, Crittenden Co. 46
Apollo took down Crittenden in their big 65-46 win on the road against Crittenden County. This win puts the Eagles’ record at 15-12 with two games left in the regular season.
Luke Jarboe led the Eagles in scoring with 2 threes and 18 points. Kobe Kelly followed behind with 13 points, and he shot 5 of 7 on free throws as well. Tate Powers had a three pointer to go along with his 11 points on the night. Landon Henning had 15 rebounds for the Eagles to go along with his 9 points.
OHS 72, Henderson Co. 59
Keaton Hughes scored an impressive 30 points in Owensboro’s comfortable 72-59 win at home over Henderson County.
Both teams got their offenses moving early on as the first quarter ended 16-16. OHS took the lead in the second quarter after outscoring Henderson 15-11. They led at halftime at 31- 27. Keaton Hughes scored 11 points in the third to help the Red Devils outscore Henderson 22-8 to gain a big lead. Henderson mounted a final push in the fourth quarter as they scored 22 points to try and claw back, but OHS kept up the intensity and scored 19 to close out the game at 72-59.
Hughes’ 30 points led the Red Devils in scoring. Dayshaun Sanders followed behind with 2 threes and 15 points. Michael Acton shot 5 of 6 from the free throw line as part of his 13 points.
