Boys’ Basketball recap (Feb. 15): OCHS

Owensboro Catholic narrowly lost their game on the road against Ohio County by a single point as they were defeated on the road 48-47. 

Luke Beickman’s 9 points in the first quarter helped the Aces establish a 16-12 lead. Catholic were held to just 9 points in the second quarter while Ohio took the 29-25 lead at halftime. The low-scoring third quarter saw OCHS outscore Ohio 8-4. Beickman had another 9 in the final quarter to help OCHS try and take the win, but Ohio scored one point more than Catholic to take the win at 48-47. 

Beickman’s 23 points, 4 threes and 5 of 7 shooting from the free throw line led the Aces in scoring. The next highest scorer was Tutt Carrico with one three and 9 points.
