Owensboro Catholic left the Raatz Fence/O’sheas Classic in style after a 74-37 blowout win over Mercy Academy. The Lady Aces had four players score in the double digits on their way to the victory. The Lady Aces are now 14-3 in the season.
The game started with both teams bringing the intensity in the first quarter as Mercy had a 1-point lead at 18-17 going into the second quarter. OCHS grabbed the lead by outscoring Mercy 15-10 in the second to go into halftime leading 32-27. The second half is where Catholic ran away with the lead after their defense held Mercy to just 3 points in the second quarter. Karmin Riley made 3 threes to help OCHS score 31 in the quarter. They cruised through the fourth quarter by holding Mercy to 6 points while they extended their lead until the game finished at 74-37.
Riley led the Lady Aces with a 21-point performance that consisted of 5 total three pointers. Delaney Cooper had the next highest points with 14 points and 2 threes. Jenna Krampe and Hailee Johnson scored 12 and 11 points respectively as well.
