Apollo began the H&H Holiday Hoopfest on the right foot with a win while Daviess County did the same in their first game in the FB&T Classic.
AHS 62, Dawson Springs 44
Apollo took down Dawson Springs 62-44 in their opening game of the H&H Holiday Hoopfest. AHS started the game off trailing 12-9 at the end of the first quarter. They took the lead in the second quarter to go into halftime leading 27-24. In the third quarter the Eagles ran away with the lead by putscoring Dawson 18-7 in the quarter to put them ahead 45-31. They held out in the final quarter to end the game with the final score at 62-44.
Leading the Eagles in scoring was Kobe Kelly and Luke Jarboe with 14 points each. Tate Powers followed close behind with 12 points. Powers also finished with a high FT% shooting 5 of 6 from the line.
DCHS 72, Glasgow 43
Daviess County had a comfortable 72-43 victory to open the FB&T Classic. They came right out of the gate strong and had an early 22-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. DCHS controlled the rest of the game as they outscored Glasgow in every quarter to win 72-43.
The Panthers had 4 players score in the double digits to help them get the win. Leading in points was Jonathan Moss with 19 points. Gage Phelps had the next highest with 17 points. Next was DeAaron Watkins with 16 points and Jaxon Brown had 12 points during the game.
