Daviess County went head-to-head with Trinity (Whitesville) in the first city-county matchup of the new season while Apollo took care of business on the road.
AHS 68, Union County 55
Apollo had a comfortable 13 point win in their 68-55 match against Union County. AHS held a ten point lead at 21-11 at the end of the first quarter. They held onto the early advantage and finished out the game 68-55.
Kobe Kelly led the Eagles in scoring with 20 points. Luke Jarboe followed with 17 points. Three of the Eagles finished the game with a high FT%. Kelly shot 8-10, Jarboe shot 5-6, and Tate Powers shot 6-6 from the free throw line.
DCHS 76, THS 31
The first city-county game of the season was a major success for Daviess County who had a blowout 76-31 victory over Trinity.
The Panthers had multiple players score in the double digits throughout the game. Jonathan Moss led the team with 16 points. Gage Phelps followed with 13 points along with Jackson Lee and Luke Floyd who had 11 points each.
Leading the Raiders in scoring was Hayden Aull with 16 points.
