The Lady Aces were the first to play their season opener as they secured a 70-63 win in overtime against Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana.
Castle had the advantage to start the game with a lead of 17-9 at the end of the first quarter, but OCHS brought the score back within two by halftime at 35-33. The score remained well into the fourth quarter which was low scoring. Regulation time ended with the score at 56-56. The Lady Aces closed out the game with tough defense to hold Castle to seven points scored in overtime to Catholic’s 14. OCHS took home their first win with a score of 70-63.
Leading in scoring for the Lady Aces was Hailee Johnson with 19 points. Johnson also finished the game with 100% FT% shooting 9/9 at the line. Karmin had 14 points during the game and Aubrey Randolph had 13 points as well.
