Owensboro Catholic takes down Edmonson in 48-7 blowout to continue undefeated streak

Owensboro Catholic continue their undefeated streak after having no problem beating Edmonson County 48-7 at home.

Owensboro Catholic started the game off with intensity as they ran up the score to 26-0 by the end of the first quarter. Brady Atwell was responsible for the four touchdown passes in the first quarter to four different receivers. 

The first being Tutt Carrico who completed a 35-yard touchdown to open the scoring in the match. The other touchdown receptions were by Elijah Blair, Deuce Sims and Vince Carrico. 

The Aces continued to dominate offensively in the second quarter with an 11-yard rushing touchdown by Miles Edge and another touchdown pass and reception by Atwell and Tutt Carrico respectively. They went into halftime with a 40-0 lead.

On the defensive end, they made sure to shut down Edmonson and even forced a turnover from a big play by Nick Sims who had an interception in the 2nd quarter.

Dre’mail Carrothers found Noah Onan for a 21-yard touchdown to get things going in the second half. The resulting two-point conversion took the score to 48-0. 

Edmonson put their first points on the board in style after Edmonson’s Carter Swihart ran an 80-yard touchdown to make the final score 48-7. 

With this win the Aces continue their undefeated streak that is now at 8-0. They face off against Fort Campbell in another district match next week to determine their seed for the first round of playoffs.
