Daviess County’s Grant Broughton placed 16th in the Individual Stroke Play Competition at the Leachman/KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Tournament.
Broughton tied for 16th and shot for 75 in the first round and 78 in the second round for a total score of 153. This is Broughton’s third state appearance in his high school career.
Brady Smith from Christian Academy-Louisville placed first overall.
Panthers head coach Lars King said Broughton performed well on a tough course with unfavorable conditions. “He showed real grit this week,” he said. “He posted two solid rounds in really tough conditions on a very difficult golf course.”
