Daviess County held out and got the 24-16 win over Christian County.

Sam Oberst opened the scoring in the game with a seven-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. The Panthers then got into field goal range for Asher Hendrix who successfully made the 21-yard attempt to take the score to 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Late in the second quarter Aiden Ayer intercepted a pass and ran the ball to Christian’s one-yard line to put the Panthers in scoring position. They capitalized and Jackson Lee ran into the endzone to extend their lead to 17-0 at halftime.

After Christian ran a kickoff return to the endzone for their first touchdown, Jace Hunt immediately answered back with his own kickoff return for a touchdown. A two point conversion and another touchdown by Christian in the fourth quarter put the final score at 24-16.

The Panthers play again on October 13 at home against Henderson County.
