Boys’ cross country recap (Oct. 3): Owensboro Area City-County Championships

All local Owensboro local schools competed in the Owensboro Area City-County Championships, and Daviess County walked away with the gold.

DCHS- 27

Daviess County placed first overall with a score of 27 and an average time of 17:18. They had three runners place in the top five individually. The top runners for the Panthers included:

  • Asher Alvey- 3rd place: 16:46.97
  • Brayden Kaelin- 4th place: 17:00.29
  • Aidan Taylor- 5th place: 17:16.29

AHS- 34

Apollo placed second overall with a score of 34 and an average time of 17:34. Apollo had runners take both gold and silver individually in the 5k race. The top runners for the Eagles included: 

  • Emmitt Brock- 1st place: 16:32.07
  • Noah Gray- 2nd place: 16:39.03
  • Josh Thomas- 6th place: 17:30.66

OHS- 85

Owensboro placed third overall with a score of 88 and an average time of 19:23. The top runners for the Red Devils included:

  • Dylan Fulkerson- 17th place: 18:51.90
  • Camden Johnson- 19th place: 19:23.97
  • Robert Amsini- 21st place: 19:29.20

THS- 107

Trinity placed fourth overall with a score of 107 and an average time of 19:58. The top runners for the Raiders included:

  • Grant Howard- 9th place: 18:14.93
  • Jacob Howard- 15th place: 18:40.12
  • Thomas Payne- 28th place: 19:47.64

OCHS- 127

Owensboro Catholic placed fifth overall with a score of 127 and an average time of 20:17. The top runners for the Aces included: 

  • Ben Booker- 20th place: 19:27.74
  • Nolan Murphy- 27th place: 19:41.49
  • Simon Thompson- 34th place: 20:26.46
