Volleyball recap (Aug. 24): AHS, DCHS, OHS, THS

Owensboro took down Daviess County 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-10) in district play, while Apollo and Trinity both secured 3-0 victories at home. 

OHS 3, DCHS 0

OHS took home the win in a district match against DCHS. 

Leading the Lady Red Devils on offense and defense was Chase Mather who led the team in kills with 11, and led in digs with 15. Ava Fincher set up the offense with 16 assists, three kills, 12 digs and two blocks. 

For the Lady Panthers, Kayla Jones led the team in assists with 18 as well as an ace, a block, and five digs. Leading the scoring for DCHS was Gracie Meserve with 9 kills and a dig. Maya Pollard had the most digs on the team with 11 along with three kills, three blocks and an assist.

AHS 3, Todd County 0

AHS secured a comfortable 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-21) win over Todd County. 

Orchestrating the offense for the Eagles was Ahalia Ramirez with 33 assists, two aces, and five digs. Leading the scoring for AHS was Ava Fazio with 11 kills. Kelsey Dickinson led the team on defense with 16 digs and two aces. 

THS 3, Muhlenberg County 0

THS also had no problem beating Muhlenberg 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 15-15). 

The Lady Raiders were led in scoring by Hannah Nash who had 16 kills, one assist and one dig. Kenzie McDowell led the team in assists with 26 along with three kills, five aces, one block, and seven digs. The defense was led by Caroline Hall with nine digs, seven aces and two assists.
