Kennedy Murphy led OCHS to beat AHS 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18) in a district matchup, while THS and OHS both secured wins as well.
OCHS 3, AHS 1
After OCHS took a two set lead, AHS bounced back by winning the third set. AHS could not keep the momentum however, and could not hold back OCHS to force a fifth set.
Leading OCHS on offense was Murphy who had 40 assists, four aces, three kills, one block, and 10 digs. OCHS was held down on defense with Karsen Tipmore leading the team in digs with 19 and two aces as well. The scoring leader for OCHS was Tyranda Stuart with 16 kills, one block, and eight digs.
AHS offense was set up by Ahalia Ramirez who had 25 assists, one ace, two blocks, and six digs. The scoring leader for AHS during the match was Abbie Butterworth who had 10 kills, one ace, two blocks, and eight digs. Kaley and Kelsey Dickinson bothe led the defense with 16 digs each.
OHS 3, Ohio County 1
OHS beat Ohio County 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16) at home for a comfortable win. Ava Fincher led the team in assists with 32, as well as recording seven kills, one ace, seven digs and a block. OHS’ scoring leader and defensive leader was Addie Travis who had 20 kills and 14 digs along with an ace and six blocks.
THS 3, Grayson County 0
THS had a clean 3-0 sweep on the road against Grayson County. Kenzie McDowell set up THS scoring with a 35-assist performance. McDowell also had five kills, five aces, seven digs and a block. Hannah Nash led the team in scoring with 19 kills, two assists and 10 digs. Caroline Hall led the defense with 18 digs, three assists and two aces.
