In their first away game of the season, Apollo finished with a 1-1 tie at Muhlenberg County.
The Eagle’s only goal was scored by senior Bryan Tiul. Eagles goalkeeper sophomore Htee Eh kept them in the game by making seven saves throughout the match.
Apollo’s new head coach Nikos Agisilaou said this tie was a sign that the team needs to work on creating better chances for one another moving forward into the season.
“Tonight we fixed some things that we previously didn’t do,” he said. “We will continue to get better as we get into the season. It’s super early and we are still learning our rotation.”
Agisilaou was previously at Madisonville as an assistant coach for the last 5 years, but is ready for this next step in his career.
“I am looking forward to this new journey in my life,” he said.
