Using a balanced offensive attack paired with a strong start defensively were the keys to victory for the Lady Panthers on Monday, defeating Webster County 56-45.
It was sophomores Zoey Beehn (six) and Emme Roberts (five), as well as freshman Briley Henry that got Daviess County going with all 15 of its points in the first. Meanwhile, they held the Lady Trojans to single digits en route to a 15-6 lead.
In the second the Lady Panthers were only able to get eight points—with four coming from senior Adylan Ayer—but were still able to hang onto a 23-18 lead at halftime. Ayer continued to lead the way out of the locker room, grabbing 14 points in the second half.
Her team-leading 18 points along with double-figure scoring from Beehn (14) and Roberts (10) was more than enough to complete the 56-45 win, with seven different Lady Panthers scoring on the night. Daviess County improves to 10-12 overall with its second consecutive win, as they now have a few days to prepare for a district battle with Owensboro at 5:30 p.m. at home on Friday.
