Thoroughbreds grab trio of road wins to open the season

The Owensboro Thoroughbreds have kicked off the 2022 campaign with a bang, grabbing wins in the first three games of a five-game road stint.

With Jaiveon Eaves leading the way with 28 points, Owensboro grabbed a 128-119 win in their season opener against Toledo Glass City BC on March 5.

With a 24-hour turnaround, the Thoroughbreds then made their way to Michigan to take on the Detroit Hustle. It was there Darhius Nunn hit a game-winner to claim a 120-118 victory, while leading the way with 29 points.

Owensboro stayed hot with a dominant 149-112 road win over the Kentucky Enforcers on Saturday, as Marty Hill led the way with 28 points. Montell James added 16 rebounds, marking his third straight game with at least 11 rebounds.

Sitting at 3-0 the Thoroughbreds get right back to work this weekend with a two-game road stint, as their fourth straight road game will be against the Lebanon Leprechauns at 7 p.m. on Friday.
