After being a force on the pitch for Daviess County during her high school career, Steeley Walker is staying a Panther by signing with Kentucky Wesleyan to continue her athletic career.

“It feels amazing to know that I am officially able to call KWC my home,” Walker said.

Walker is coming off a season in which she led the Lady Panthers in points (34), goals (12) and assists (10) while being a formidable defender when needed as well.

The Daviess County standout said that she feels as though Kentucky Wesleyan’s soccer program has a lot to offer and with the connections she’s made with coaches and players—it’s a great fit.

“I’ve always thought KWC had a great women’s soccer program,” Walker said. “After many conversations with Coach Duvall, I felt that KWC was the right fit for me all around. I also have a playing history with a lot of the current players at KWC, which I am excited to be able to play with them again.”

On top of that Walker felt that the homey feel of Kentucky Wesleyan would also be best for her as she continues her studies, in which she is currently undecided.

“I chose KWC because it was a great fit for me academically due to the size of the school and the family type atmosphere,” Walker said.

While Walker is ready for the next level, she said that the time she got to share with her teammates and coaches will be missed.

“I will definitely miss the bond my team and I had on and off the soccer field, and the support of our coaching staff,” Walker said.
