For the first time this spring, the Kentucky Wesleyan Men’s Golf team were able to compete out on the course, opening up the championship portion of their season with the Saint Leo Invitational down in sunny Saint Leo, Florida.
Wesleyan finished 17th with a team score of 943 (+79) and a team best 306 (+18) in the second round.
After an opening round 80, sophomore Tyler Nickol shot a 74 and 76 in each of the next two rounds to come in a tie for 72nd with a score of 230 (+14). Camden Robertson shot scores of 80-76-80 to tie for 85th with a 236 (+20). Jonah Graham shot a 238 (+22) on scores of 75-85-78 to finish in a tie for 90th. Evan Beery shot a 246 (+30) to come in 95th with scores of 85-78-83 and Ethan Lucas shot rounds of 85-78-85 to take 96th with a 248 (+32).
Nickol and Beery each notched an eagle for the Panthers.
Wesleyan now takes a month off before they head to Lexington, Ky. for the Saginaw Valley State Invitational on March 19-20.
