Using an explosive second quarter offensively, the Lady Raiders’ consistent effort on both ends of the floor helped them grab a 53-39 win over Grayson County.

Things got off to a slow start for both teams, with Trinity narrowly outscoring the Lady Cougars to take an 11-7 lead into the second.

Junior Josie Aull and freshman Kenzie McDowell gave the Lady Raiders a big lift in the second quarter, combining for 12 of their 19 points. This offensive outburst helped Trinity go into the second half owning a 30-18 lead.

Trinity saw a dip in offensive production in the third quarter, but its defensive efforts limited Grayson County to single digits and went into the fourth up 40-25.

Senior Cassidy Morris chipped in seven points in the fourth to help the Lady Raiders put a bow on a 53-39 district win.

Morris led the way with 14 points, while Aull followed with 13 points and McDowell finished with 12 points as the trio combined matched the Lady Cougars offense for the game.

Now owning a three-game winning streak, Trinity moves to 5-6 overall and will look to stay hot at home against Hopkins County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
