Owensboro and Apollo boys soccer were clicking on all cylinders Thursday, both coming away with shutouts.
Owensboro vs. University Heights Academy
The Red Devils made quick work of University Heights Academy with its offense, walking away with a 10-victory.
Seven different players scored on the night for Owensboro, including a goal from senior keeper Logan Lantham.
Sophomore Peter Saang led the way with a hat trick, senior Saw Thaw had two goals, while junior Zachary West, sophomore Sang Thang, junior Aiden Frego and senior Conner Rhoads all scored a goal each.
The Red Devils now sit at 8-9-1 overall on the season and will look to stay hot when they take on Ohio County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday to close out the regular season.
Apollo vs. Muhlenberg County
Senior Harrison Bowman led the charge offensively for the Eagles, helping push them past Muhlenberg County 3-0 in their final home game of the season.
Bowman helped put Apollo on the board early, converting a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead over the Mustangs.
Thanks to a nice feed from Bowman, junior Hunter Dickerson got in on the action with a goal to make it 2-0.
It was Bowman scoring once again to make it 3-0 Eagles, this time finding the back of the net after an assist from junior Hsa Than.
Junior Steven Taran also put forth a valiant effort in goal, keeping the Mustangs off the board with four saves.
Now sitting at 10-8-1 overall on the season, Apollo will take a few days to prepare for district play that will begin Monday.
