Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic girls soccer came away victorious on Thursday night, defeating Union County and Evansville Central.
Owensboro vs. Union County
The Lady Devils grabbed its second straight 9-0 win on Thursday, defeating Union County with three hat tricks.
It was senior Ella Bratcher, Evelyn Pierson and sophomore Sydney Lovett who all found the back of the net three times apiece.
Lovett, also paired with senior Natalie Lamar, had three assists to lead the offense with their passing.
Owensboro now sits at 4-2 overall on the season and will hit the road to take on Henderson County this Saturday at 10 a.m.
Owensboro Catholic vs. Evansville Central
The Lady Aces offense was too much to handle for Evansville Central, outsourcing them 5-1 en route to a three-game winning streak.
It was the formidable duo of senior Ashton Logsdon and junior Maddie Hayden that led the way offensively, both finishing with a brace.
Meanwhile, sophomore Ginny Young rounded up the team’s scoring with the other lone goal of the day.
The win came against Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Andy Hines’ former school. Hines coached the Evansville Central boys team to a Sectional Championship in 2009, which was the last time they won a Sectional Championship.
With the win and a three-game winning streak under their belt, the Lady Aces will take a short trip to take on Daviess County at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
