Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic boy’s soccer took to the pitch Monday to start the season in their respective games.
Owensboro vs. Ohio County
Owensboro controlled possession all throughout the game, leading to a 4-1 victory over Ohio County.
The Red Devils had 23 shots with 14 of them on goal.
Peter Saang led the way with two goals on the day, taking a total of three shots.
Aiden Frego also scored two goals, taking five shots to do so.
Ohio County couldn’t muster up enough offense, taking nine shots with only six being on goal.
Owensboro Catholic vs. Muhlenberg County
Owensboro Catholic boy’s soccer opened up the season with a hard fought game against Muhlenberg ending in a draw.
The final score was 3-3, as both teams seemed to continually find the back of the net.
Austin Martin scored two goals for the Aces to lead the way on the offensive end of the pitch.
Dominic Ranallo nabbed a goal and an assist in the game, with Brody Martin also recording an assist. While three goals may have scored, Parker Jones had two saves in goal to keep things knotted up as time expired.
Owensboro Catholic will return to the field for its first home game on Thursday when they take on Daviess County at 7 p.m.
