Apollo 51, Butler County 35
The Apollo Eagles bounced back from their loss to Owensboro Tuesday when they took the court Thursday in Butler County and came away with a win.
Apollo cruised to the 51-35 win but coach Mark Starns said it was a physical battle throughout.
The Eagles had four plays in double figures and were led by Dan St. Clair’s 12 points. Harrison Bowman, Cameron Frantz and Jaden Kelly all added 11 for Apollo in the victory.
Apollo has its fine 9th District game of the regular season Sunday when it hosts Owensboro Catholic at AHS.
Hancock County 70, Trinity 66
The Trinity Raiders were dealt their eighth-straight loss Thursday when they hit the road to Hancock County and were stung by the Hornets.
Hancock’s Devyn Powers finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the Hornets to the 70-56 win over the Raiders.
Landon Huff finished with a team-high 20 points to lead the Raiders.
Trinity doesn’t have long to worry about the loss as they travel to Calloway County tonight for a battle with the Lakers.

Bowling Green 57, Apollo 43
Bowling Green snapped Apollo’s three-game winning streak Thursday when the Purples invaded AHS and grabbed the victory.
The E-gals fell 57-43, which was their biggest margin of defeat this season.
Apollo is back in action Saturday when they host Owensboro Catholic in a 9th District matchup with tournament-seeding implications.
Ohio County 47, Trinity 44
Despite not allowing any Ohio County player in double digits, the Trinity Lady Raiders weren’t able to get the win over the Lady Eagles in Whitesville.
Ohio County edged the Raiders 47-44 to snap their four-game losing streak.
Josie Aull finished with a game-high 23 points for THS while Cassidy Morris added 15 points in the loss.
Trinity plays Saturday at home against Calloway County.
