This week’s Owensboro Times basketball honors go to Owensboro’s Gavin Wimsatt and A’Lyrica Hughes after each received the most votes in their respective weekly poll.
Wimsatt, a sophomore for the Red Devils, is the Boys’ Player of the Week after averaging 18.7 points in three games.
Hughes, an 8th-grader for the Lady Devils, is the Girls’ Player of the Week after averaging 11 points in two games and posting one double-double.
Note: Next week’s Basketball Player of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m. This week’s winners will not be eligible for nomination.
