This week’s Owensboro Times sports honors go to Owensboro Catholic’s Drew Hartz and Daviess County’s Hayden Boswell.
Hartz, a senior quarterback for the Aces, is the Football Player of the Week after earning the most votes in the weekly poll. Hartz set a school record and tied the state record with nine passing touchdowns, completing 18 of 21 passes for 548 yards in a 68-14 win over Hopkins County Central.
Boswell, a freshman soccer player for the Panthers, is the Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Boswell had three goals total in two matches, including two in a 5-3 win over Oldham County.
Next week’s Athlete and Football Player of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m. Nominees will be based on names and stats submitted by coaches.
Note: Winners of the weekly honors will not be eligible for nomination again.
