BASEBALL RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 5, South Spencer 1
Despite being outhit 9-7, the Aces (17-13) used a hot start to pick up a win at home. Catholic also collected five doubles on the day.

Winning pitcher Sam McFarland was the only Ace to earn two hits. He was the first to score in a three-run first inning, and Catholic added another run in the second. On the mound, McFarland went 6.1 innings and gave up nine hits while striking out nine batters.

McFarland, Luke Evans, Everett Munsey, Luke Scales and Hunter Small each had a double.

Daviess County 13, Forest Park 3 (5 innings)
Nolan Boswell drove in four runs and the Panthers (10-16) ran away early for a road win over Forest Park. After falling behind 2-0, Daviess County scored seven runs in the second inning and added four in the fourth to pull away.

Ryan Beckwith was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Boswell finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Cole Troutman went 2-for-4 and scored three times. Garrett Small also collected a pair of hits and drove in three runs.

Bo Stratton got the win, giving up three runs (two unearned) on four hits in a complete game.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Owensboro Catholic 6, Central Hardin 3
The Lady Aces (12-9) twice overcame a deficit before picking up a win over the Lady Bruins (24-7) in a five-inning game on the first day of the Tylar Missbach Memorial Showcase at Boyle County.

Brooke Hamilton hit a two-run homer, while four players collected doubles for Catholic. Danielle Henning and Hadley Phelps each had an RBI double in a three-run fifth inning that put the Lady Aces ahead for good, and they each finished with two hits.

Phelps started the game in the circle and went 3.0 innings, giving up three unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Lexi Hatchett finished out the game and gave up no hits.

Trinity 3, Hart County 2
Trinity (10-12) went up by three runs early and were able to fend off Hart County (19-12) for their fourth consecutive win. It’s the 10th win in the last 12 games.

Nina Wathen pitched a complete game, giving up six hits and striking out four in the victory.

McKenzie Roberts, Brittany Booker, Katherine Hibbitt and Avery Barnett each had two hits for Trinity. Booker had a double, while Hibbitt and Roberts each tripled.

Evansville Bosse 20, Owensboro 14
In a back-and-forth, high-scoring affair, the Lady Devils (2-19) weren’t able to hold on to a late lead in a road loss. Bosse scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth and then kept Owensboro off the board in the seventh.

The Lady Devils had a strong day at the plate, finishing with 18 hits including six doubles. Mady Poole led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Other offensive leaders were Aubrie Schueler (3-for-4, 3 runs, 2 RBIs, double), Bailey McAlister (3-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Sophie Moorman (2 runs, 2 RBIs, 2 doubles).

Schueler took the loss in the circle in 3.1 innings of action.

TENNIS
Owensboro Catholic 5, Hancock County 0 (girls)
The Lady Aces were dominant across the board in a sweep of Hancock County at Moreland Park. Singles victories came from Sarah Kate Young, Emmy Moore, Ella Grace Buckman. Doubles winners were Alyssa Gatten/Olivia Hayden and Sarah Englert/Reagan Fulkerson.
