BASEBALL RECAPS
Apollo 8, Breckinridge County 2
Noah Stewart homered and the Eagles (9-11) used a five-run sixth inning to pick up a big road win over Breckinridge County. Apollo snaps a six-game skid with the victory.

Stewart’s solo shot came in the seventh inning as an insurance run. He also had a double and two RBIs. Jakob Helms added two hits and three RBIs, while Trevor Payne had two hits and Josh Maddox doubled. Tanner Klee and Tommy Clark each scored twice.

Nick Judd went the distance on the mound, giving up two runs on five hits and striking out five.

Daviess County 16, McLean County 0 (4 innings)
The Panthers (7-11) collected 15 hits and rolled past the Cougars on the road in four innings. Winning pitcher Hunter Payne gave up a single hit, struck out two and walked one.

The offense was led by Nolan Boswell (3-for-3, 3 runs, 5 RBIs, double), Chandler Froelich (2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs, double), Cole Troutman (2-for-3, 2 runs, RBI), Garret Small (2-for-3, 2 runs, RBI) and Ryan Beckwith (3-for-3, 2 runs).

Ohio County 8, Trinity 0
The Raiders (3-13) had five errors and only two hits as they were shut out by Ohio County. Briar Roberts tripled and Gavin Howard had a single.

Kevin Foster took the loss in 5.0 innings, giving up seven runs (four unearned) on six hits and five strikeouts.

SOFTBALL RECAPS
Chrisitan County 12, Apollo 4 (lightning shortened game)
The E-Gals (7-10) fell behind and weren’t able to catch up before the game was called due to lightning. The Lady Colonels used 10 runs between the third and fourth innings to build a big lead, and the game was called in the bottom of the sixth.

Maddie Gore and Madison Shemwell each had two hits, and Shemwell doubled. Keely Eans took the loss and gave up all 12 runs on eight hits through 4.0 innings.

TENNIS RECAP
Apollo 9, Ohio County 0 (girls)
Apollo 7, Ohio County 2 (boys)
Both Apollo tennis teams picked up road wins at Ohio County. Girls’ singles winners were Macy Dame, Mia Lampert, Natalie Estes, Caroline Ashby and Maggie Ward. Doubles victors were Caitlyn Blandford/Madalyn Hyland, Lauren Clements/Lynzy Schwartz and Gracie Cart/Anna Hyland.

For the boys, singles wins came from Stephen Austin, Ryan Ash, Chris Cox and Luke Austin. Doubles victors were Ash/Chapman, Cox/Stephen Austin and Luke Austin/Nathan Payne.
