Three players from the Kentucky Wesleyan College women’s basketball team and one from the men’s team earned All-Conference honors as announced by the G-MAC office on Thursday.
For the women, Jenna Martin and Keelie Lamb earned All-Conference First Team honors, and Lily Grimes was named the league’s All-Defense Team. For the men, Adam Goetz was named to the All-Conference Second Team.
JENNA MARTIN
Martin ranks 11th in the league with a 12.8 points per game average. So far this year, she has scored 370 points, pulled in 98 rebounds, dished out 75 assists and collected 48 steals. Martin finished 20 games with 10 points or more, scoring a season-best 28 on Jan. 12 at Alderson Broaddus. Martin ranks third in the G-MAC and 25th nationally with a .411 3-point shooting percentage. She is also ranked seventh in the conference in 3-point field goals per game with 2.1.
KEELIE LAMB
Lamb averages 12.5 points per game. She has scored 362 points and collected 127 rebounds while producing a team-best 67 steals. Lamb ranks sixth in the league in steals, ninth in blocked shots (23) and 14th in scoring. Lamb reached double figures in points 19 times on the year, and she recorded a career-high 27 points on Nov. 15 against Ohio Christian. She also made a career-high 5 steals on Feb. 14 at Malone.
LILY GRIMES
Grimes started in 28 of the Panthers’ 29 games, averaging over 25 minutes per night. Grimes has collected 29 steals this season to go along with a team-high 97 assists. Her 1.80 assist-to-turnover ratio is best in the G-MAC and 48th in the country. Grimes averages 8 points and 4 rebounds, reaching a career-high 4 steals on Nov. 15 against Ohio Christian. She also snagged 10 rebounds on Dec. 29 against Alice Lloyd.
ADAM GOETZ
Goetz started all 26 games this season, reaching double-figures in points 23 times and seven times surpassing 20 points in a game. He set a career-high of 25 on Dec. 7 at Tiffin. Goetz led the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game, and he also recorded 117 rebounds, 83 assists and 17 steals. Goetz was 15th in the G-MAC in points per game, fourth in three-point shooting percentage (.424) and fifth in made 3-point baskets (74).
